Hot on the heels of its explosive third installment, season 4 of Jack Ryan has landed on our screens but fans hoping to binge the whole season were left disappointed as only four episodes have been released so far, leaving many wondering when episode 5 and beyond will be available.
Jack Ryan fans certainly know how to be patient as they were left waiting more than three years between seasons 2 and 3 of the spy thriller so it should have been a welcome change that season 4 has only taken a matter of months to arrive on Prime Video but as viewers have discovered, not all of the season has been released in one go.
Why are there only four episodes so far?
There are only four episodes in season 4 of Jack Ryan so far as the new installment is being deliberately staggered, as opposed to being released all at once.
This is a significant departure for Jack Ryan as each of the previous seasons has arrived in one binge-friendly bundle, letting viewers watch at their own pace.
Staggering the release of episodes in this fashion is becoming an increasingly common trend with shows on Prime Video, such as The Rings of Power, as Amazon must hope that the longer release window will drive discussion around its shows – which is less likely if fans watch over one weekend.
On top of that, it also encourages fans to stay subscribed to Prime for longer, especially if they had been planning on cancelling their subscription after watching their favorite show.
When is episode 5 of Jack Ryan season 4 released?
Episode 5 of Jack Ryan season 4 will be released on Friday, July 14, 2023.
The upcoming chapter, titled Wukong, will be made available alongside episode 6, Proof of Concept, as two episodes of Jack Ryan will be released each week until the season comes to an end.
After seasons 1-3 saw John Krasinski’s analyst-turned-agent investigating external threats to the US, the new installment sees him turn his focus inwards as he searches for internal corruption at the heart of the CIA and US government.
How many episodes are in Jack Ryan season 4?
Season 4 of Jack Ryan will consist of six episodes in total, meaning that just two remain after the release of episodes 3 and 4.
Veteran fans of the series may be a little disappointed as the episode count means that season 4 is the shortest installment of Jack Ryan to date, as each previous season had featured eight episodes.
What is even more tragic for die-hard viewers, though, is that season 4 is also serving as the final chapter of the spy thriller as the Tom Clancy series will not return for season 5.
