To Catch a Killer was originally released in select theaters in April 2023.

But in August, it was added to the Hulu streaming service in the US and Netflix in Canada, giving it a new lease of life.

Set in Baltimore on New Year’s Eve, To Catch a Killer tells the story of Eleanor (Shailene Woodley), a young and talented police officer with a troubled past.

Where was To Catch a Killer filmed?

To Catch a Killer was filmed in and around Montréal within the province of Quebec in Canada.

That’s right, despite the film being set in Baltimore, Maryland in the US, the production team ventured north of the border into Canada.

Filming on the project took place between January 27 and March 10, 2021, with the film originally titled Misanthrope before it was renamed to its current title before release.

According to The Cinemaholic, several locations from across Downtown Montréal feature in the film, with plenty of shots of the city’s skyline being shown throughout the film.

One particularly notable location that can be spotted during the film is the lavish Bar George, a restaurant specializing in British and Scottish cuisine, although with a Québécois twist.
