Adams did not survive. After committing the crime, Carruth was wanted on a $3 million bond. After a nationwide manhunt, Carruth was arrested in 1999.

The former player was found guilty of attempted murder, opened fire on an inhabited building and attempted to kill an unborn child two years later. He was acquitted of first-degree murder but sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison. After 18 years in prison, he was released on October 22, 2018.

Carruth and a friend moved to Pennsylvania after being released from prison. As of this writing, he is said to be working from home and has undergone a drastic change.

In addition, he wants to mend the relationship he has had with his son over the years. His mother, Saundra, received a large sum of money from him in 2019. Since it was an anonymous check, Saundra, the woman who raised the Prime Minister after her daughter was murdered, does not know who sent it. On the other hand, Carruth had sent it, she later found out. Although he did not admit to killing Adam, the former NFL player admitted he felt responsible for everything. Carruth and the other conspirators received Saundra’s forgiveness, despite everything that happened.
