St. James Davis was hurt badly when a chimp attacked him in a horrible way.
62-years-old St. James Davis was brutally attacked when he was at the Animal Haven Ranch to celebrate Moe’s 39th birthday. Moe used to be their pet chimp. At the time, he was with his wife, LaDonna.
When their party turns into a terrible accident, the couple will never forget what happened. During the terrifying attack, the man lost most of his body and was rushed to the hospital.
With the help of medical teams, he was able to survive the attack, but it changed his life forever. Here, let’s look at the man’s background who went through the scary event in 2005.
St. James Davis’s Chimp Attack Wounds: Before and After Photos of His Face
In March 2005, a chimp killed St. James Davis, a man from California. He was hurt badly in an accident and had to stay in the hospital for six months.
His before and after pictures have been making the rounds on the internet recently. Because of the attack, Davis lost parts of his face, fingers, feet, and a testicle.
His wife, LaDonna, was with him when the chimp was acting violently. She said, “I’m glad that God and this hospital made it possible for St. James to come back to me. Our life together and our love for each other aren’t over yet.”
During an accident, she lost her thumb. And most of his face and body parts were missing from St. James.
It is a miracle that he made it through a critical situation with severe injuries to his face and body. After the chimp tore off his face, he got hurt in several ways.
Learn What Happened in the Gombe Chimpanzee War by St. James Davis
St. James Davis went to see his pet chimpanzee, Moe, on his 39th birthday. Two other chimpanzees attacked him violently. The event made people think of the war between chimpanzees in Gombe in 1974 and 1978.
At Gombe Stream National Park, there was a fight between two groups of chimpanzees. During the four years of fighting, all of the men in the Kahama community were killed or left the group.
In 1974, six adult Kasakela men named Humphrey, Jomeo, Evered, Sherry, Rodolf, and Figan killed a Kahama man named Godi. This was the start of the war.
Eventually, a war broke out between the two groups, and the Kahama chimpanzee clan was destroyed. In the meantime, the Kasakela clan grew its territory, which led to more fights in the future.
Moe, Davis’s pet chimpanzee, is like a child to him. He was raised as their son, and in 1971, they had to go through a lot of trouble to keep him.
A Reddit video of St. James Davis went viral on Twitter
The Reddit chimp attack video by St. James Davis has gone viral on both Reddit and Twitter. A 55-year-old woman named Charla Nash had the same thing happen to her.
Travis, a 14-year-old chimpanzee, attacked Charla, a woman from Connecticut, in a very violent way. During the attack, she lost both eyes, her nose, and part of her jaw.
As the case of the chimp attack and the video of it have been shared on the internet, many old events have come back to light.
