Wednesday night, Fox’s MasterChef Season 12 came back with a brand-new episode. The top 15 chefs went back to the kitchen for a challenge that tested how well they could bake. This week, Shelly got into trouble because she had trouble making the dish she chose to copy.
In episode 9 of MasterChef, called “Bake to Win,” each contestant was given one dessert that they had to bake to perfection. They had to choose one dessert from a few that were put in front of them. Christian had a big advantage this week because he was the winner of the immunity pin last week.
The MasterChef contestant got to choose the order in which the chefs chose their dishes. He asked the contestants he thought were the least dangerous to make the first choice. He thought that most people would choose the easiest dish, but most chose the hardest dish to show how good they were.
One of these chefs was Shelly Flash, who was the second person to choose her dessert. Shelly decided to make another Napoleon. She was sad that she didn’t expect to have trouble making her dish.
Even though she was stuck with her dessert and running out of time, many people didn’t feel bad for her. Fans said that she did this to herself on social media.
Why don’t MasterChef fans feel sorry for Shelly in Episode 9 of Season 12?
Shelly was the second contestant Christian chose to pick her dessert. Even though she could have picked any of the desserts on the table, the MasterChef contestant chose to make the most difficult one. Because it has puff pastry and layers, the Napoleon is a hard dessert to make. This dessert had to go into the oven early so it could have time to rest when it came out.
Shelly had trouble right away with her pastry dough. During her confession, Shelly said that she wasn’t very good at making sweets. During her last season on the famous reality TV show, she was kicked off after giving the judges an undercooked cake.
In this episode, her dessert gave her the same trouble. The dough for the pie didn’t stick together. A Napoleon is a hard dessert to make because you can’t change the dough. If you touch it too much, the butter will melt, but you want it to melt when it bakes, so you get those perfect layers.
Shelly was late getting her pie dough into the oven because time was running out. When the contestant chose the hardest dish of the night, the other chefs started to look at her like she was crazy, which made her start to freak out.
