Robert Steers biography
Robert H. Steers serves as Chief Executive Officer, Director of the Company. Steers, a director since August 2004, is the company’s chief executive officer. Prior to co-founding the firm in 1986 with Mr. Cohen, Mr. Steers was a senior vice president and the chief investment officer of National Securities and Research Corporation from 1982 to 1986, where, in 1985, he and Mr. Cohen organized and managed the nation’s first real estate securities mutual fund. From 1977 to 1982, Mr. Steers was a vice president at Citibank, serving as an analyst and portfolio manager of Citibank’s Emerging Growth Stock Fund. Mr. Steers is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Staff Retirement Plan of the International Monetary Fund and a member of the Investment Committee, Georgetown University. Mr. Steers also serves as chairman of each of the company’s U.S. registered open-end and closed-end funds. Mr. Steers has a BS degree from Georgetown University and an MBA degree from George Washington University.
