MSCHF is in the news again with its new product – Big Red Boots – inspired by the anime character Astro Boy, and if you’re planning to make them yours, we have found the price of the new collection and other details.
The unconventional boots have turned many heads, recently having been spotted on SGA, who showed up to the Lakers game in LA wearing them.
The latest collection is believed to draw inspiration from the character Astro Boy as seen in the Japanese anime. Unlike the fictional pair that has built-in weapons and powers, the life-size red boots by MSCHF do not harness any special abilities.
Price of MSCHF’s Big Red Astro Boots
As per Sneaker News, a pair of MSCHF Big Red Boots is priced at $350.
The brand’s announcement regarding the launch of its new collection notes that the big red boots were created for a “cool 3D world”.
It is dubbed as an Astro Boy-inspired shoe that brings “Mighty Atom into real life.”
“Over the years, we’ve seen countless allusions to the character in footwear and fashion – BAIT being the most prevalent, through multiple collaborative projects – but none coming more literally than this,” the post reads.

MSCHF’s Big Red Boots will be available to buy on the official shopping site or the brand’s app starting February 16, 2023. The collection will go live at 11 am ET.
The mid-calf high footwear is said to be made of red EVA foam featuring a TPU rubber shell and does not consist of any branding on the surface.
The boots are outlined by a large lip collar which gives a more animated look and also supports the calves.
Latest collection receives mixed reactions
MSCHF’s new boots have gathered a range of reactions on Twitter as some are absolutely in love with its unconventional design, while others don’t approve of it.
“I act like I’m okay but deep down I really want these Big Red Astro Boy Boots,” said one.
But another Twitter user opined: “Them Big Red Boots ugly, but I know you going to buy them! It’s giving Astro Boy and also they joints look like AirPods as boots.”
A third user said: “I was going to make a joke about those Big Red Boots because they look like Astro Boy’s boots, but it turns out they were actually inspired by them…well alright then.”
