According to reports, a semi-truck crashed through barricades in a construction zone on Interstate 84 on Saturday, September 23, 2023, killing a construction worker. According to the authorities, a westbound Freightliner operated by a 75-year-old man from Anaheim, California, crossed a closed lane of traffic in the work zone around 7:30 p.m. in Jerome County, at milepost 183, and struck Michael Martindale, 22, of Filer.
After striking Martindale, the semi continued west and struck a Ford Ranger pickup truck before coming to a stop.
