Matthew Modine Stated That He Was Astounded When He Saw His Wife For The First Time

Matthew Modine’s acting career got off to a rough start. Before his acting career took off, he worked at a restaurant. He also met his wife, Caridad Modine, while working as a chef. He couldn’t refuse her as a customer. Modine’s acting career and relationships began around the same time, and they’re still going strong four decades on.

The first time Matthew Modine saw his wife

When Modine initially moved to New York to pursue an acting career, finding work was difficult. To make ends meet, he found a job as a waiter at a restaurant called Au Natural. However, the person in charge didn’t let him wait for a table. Instead, he sent him to work as a cook in the kitchen.

The Stranger Things star has some cooking experience, having worked at a restaurant when he was 11 years old and his parents owning a Mexican restaurant when he was a kid. So his experience was helpful, and he stayed. One day, he received a takeout request from a waitress. On the other hand, Modine refused to cook the meal because he knew it wouldn’t be good as a takeout option. The waiter argued back, claiming that the customer, a woman, was a regular and kind customer. However, Modine was not in the mood to prepare food.

So he came forward and said that if the waiter didn’t want to tell the customer “no”, he would. He stepped outside the food court, intending to urge her to order somewhere else. When he saw the client, all his rigor disappeared. Instead, he said, “How much are you asking for?”

“It was the most gorgeous creature I have ever seen in my life,” he recalls the moment he saw the client, who would eventually become his wife. He told Hallmark: “I believe in lightning love.

That love affair with his Caridadian wife developed into a marriage that lasted four decades. He appreciates the years of help she has provided him. In 2020, he told Closer Weekly that Caridad is “the best companion and friend a person could want to have.” He loved the stability and strength she gave him and wondered if he would still be alive without her there.
