Mr Mitchell was most recently Executive General Manager at Mineral Resources’ Wodgina lithium mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, where he oversaw the transition from construction to commissioning and operations of the Wodgina hard-rock lithium mine and concentrator. His prior roles also include Vice President Operations of the world-scale Ambatovy nickel laterite operation in Madagascar, with overall responsibility for all aspects of the mining, processing, rail transport and port operations, and senior corporate and General Manager roles with Newcrest Mining at the Telfer mine in the Pilbara and the Hidden Valley gold operation in Papua New Guinea.
