Jordan Rishel Obituary, Jordan Rishel Has Tragically Passed Away By Car Accident

Jordan Rishel, executive director of the Washington County Community Foundation, died after the Jeep Wrangler she was driving crashed into another vehicle on U.S. Highway 30 at County Road 15, known as Marshall Nursery Road, according to a county press release.

Officers from the Nebraska State Patrol and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the crash scene, southwest of Blair, about 7 p.m. on Thursday, according to the State Patrol.

According to the preliminary inquiry, Rishel’s Jeep lost control while traveling west on U.S. 30 in slick conditions, crossed into the eastbound lane, and collided with a Ford F-150 pickup.

Rishel served as director for the Blair Chamber of Commerce for 11 years before becoming the executive director of the county foundation. She also was a member of the Washington County Board of Supervisors from 2018 to 2022.

In a statement Friday morning, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Rishel was a dedicated member of the community who made a positive impact.

Rishel, you will always be remembered with love by those who had the honor of knowing you. You are sincerely missed. Peace be with you, my friend, and may your soul always brighten our days as we cherish the happiness and love you gave us.
