Tenzin Norbu, a Buddhist monk from Toronto who is 33 years old, has been arrested because he is accused of setting a woman on fire on a bus in Toronto on Friday.
Friday around 12:30 p.m., police were called to the Kipling subway station, which is at the corner of Kipling Avenue and Dundas Street West. Someone told them that a woman had been hurt.
Police said that a man poured something liquid on the woman and then set her on fire. After a string of violent events on Toronto’s public transportation system, the attack happened.
After a man was stabbed in the neck while standing on the platform at St. George station in April, the unions that represent the city’s transit workers asked the TTC to add more officers to its stations.
But reports say that the woman who was rushed to the hospital with second- and third-degree burns has died.
