Is there any dog more iconic than Scooby-Doo? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Either way, you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody that not only didn’t know of Scoob, but find somebody who didn’t have fond memories of watching the canine in their childhood.
The animated character has been a staple on screens for decades, joining the rest of the Mystery Inc gang as they hop into the Mystery Machine determined to unmask monsters wherever they go.
Whether you feel the series was ripe for reinvention will depend. However, it doesn’t matter, because now we have Velma, a new adult animated show that reimagines the well-known characters of Scooby-Doo. Well, apart from the titular dog itself.
With the first couple of episodes upon us, let’s ask how many episodes of Velma are in the HBO Max schedule altogether.
How Many episodes of Velma in HBO Max schedule?
Velma will offer audiences 10 episodes in total and the first two premiered on HBO Max on Thursday, January 12th 2023.
Over the weeks, two episodes will air weekly, in a pair, with the first season set to conclude on Thursday, February 9th 2023.

As of yet, it has not been confirmed whether Velma is renewed for season 2. We predict a renewal announcement could come as early as February 2023.
‘We were really inspired by Into The Spider-Verse’
The titular Velma is voiced by Mindy Kaling, who executive-produced the show too.
She was recently interviewed by Entertainment Weekly and opened up about some of the creative decisions and inspirations behind the project:
“We knew it would be fun for me to play Velma, but we had a conversation where Velma is white, and we have this new choice to do the show and if I’m voicing her, should she be white or should she not? We were really inspired by Into The Spider-Verse — it’s animation, we can do anything.”
She continued: “The essence of Velma is not necessarily tied to her whiteness. And I identify so much as her character, and I think so many people do, so it’s like, yeah, let’s make her Indian in this series.”
