Screen Rant is delighted to exclusively present a clip from Cobra Kai season 5, which premieres September 9 on Netflix. Created as a sequel to Robert Mark Kamen’s Karate Kid films, the series exploded in popularity when it moved from YouTube to its new streaming home with Netflix in 2020. Legions of fans now await the newest chapter, which will explore what becomes of Johnny, Daniel, Miguel, and their karate-loving friends after John Kreese appears to be out of commission. Unfortunately for them, there’s someone else they need to worry about: Terry Silver.
After the surprising turn of events at the All Valley Tournament, Cobra Kai season 5 sees Terry Silver expanding his empire and enforcing his “No Mercy” style of karate. With Johnny Lawrence trying to step away from martial arts in order to take accountability for his past actions, it will be up to Daniel LaRusso and any allies on whom he might call to restore honor to the dojo. One such potential ally is Chozen, who was once the antagonist of Karate Kid Part II but has turned over a new leaf since arriving on the scene in Cobra Kai season 3.
In Screen Rant‘s exclusive Cobra Kai clip, provided by Netflix, Chozen tells Daniel about Terry’s previous sensei. Master Kim Sun-Yung taught a violent and controversial karate style that shows no mercy, a feature which Chozen humorously demonstrates for Daniel’s benefit. The deceptive form of combat is something to be extremely cautious of, but Chozen is convinced he has a way of using it against Silver. Check out the full clip below:

While this has previously caused them to butt heads, it may not be the key Daniel needs to preventing the expansion of the Cobra Kai dojo. The only worry now is whether going on the offense risks upending the fighting style Daniel himself has been espousing—eventually bringing him too close to Silver’s methods for comfort.
Then again, Chozen may be the only one in Cobra Kai season 5 who has what it takes to beat Terry Silver in the show. For that reason alone, it’s best that Daniel keep him close while making sure not to lose himself in the process. As for what the students will do when the chips fall, audiences will have to tune in to the new set of episodes to follow the karate kida on their next adventure.
All episodes of Cobra Kai season 5will be available to stream September 9 on Netflix.
