Beauty Box: Members, Songs, Debut, Albums

Beauty Box is such a melange of multinational idols. Just as a beauty box has lots of cosmetics inside, this group has some gorgeous girls from other countries apart from South Korea.

The group has tapped into their members’ international backgrounds by shooting V logs with the international members of their group in their home countries, such as Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea. This gives them an extra edge as the members take you on tour with their favorite spots to rendezvous, making their fans drool over and know each member better.

Debut

This new sensational K-Pop group debuted under BY-U Entertainment following the vision to lead the next generation of K-Pop targeting the global market. It is the first K-Pop girl group made by BY-U Entertainment. Beauty Box originally debuted with six members consisting of two Korean, two Japanese, one Thai, and one Vietnamese member.

The company CEO YJB wanted to fuse the strength of K-Pop and the various cultural strengths of each member’s country to create a new kind of K-Pop. Keeping in mind all these aspects, beauty box successfully debuted on 23 September 2021 with its first single album ‘Beyond of BB.’ Their Music Video was released on their YouTube channel @BEAUTYBOX2021 as well as on Danal Entertainment’s YouTube channel.

Their music is available on many streaming platforms, such as Melon, Spotify, Apple Music, VIBE, and Genie. Fans of Beauty Box are known as WIBBON. 

Member profile

Beauty Box, at the time of its debut, consisted of six members Gahyun, Rina, Tramanh, Sara, Jerin, and Sori. Later in 2023, they introduced two new members, Chae-Eun and Via, from their YouTube’s ‘Unboxing video.’ The group member has taken up Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test quite seriously and even revealed it to their fans. 

Gahyun

Gahyun is a South Korean member of the girl group beauty box. She is the leader of the group. Gahyun emanates cuteness with her dimple smile on every occasion of her social interaction.

She claims herself to be the ‘housewife’ of the group as she takes on the vacuum and laundry duty. Her MBTI is ISFJ and has claimed to be more introverted than her fans think her to be.

Sara

Sara is a sub-vocalist in the South Korean girl group beauty box. She is a Japanese member of the group. Sara possesses fresh bursts to her personality with her puppy beauty that energizes her fans and the group.

She is an encouraging radio host. She recommends taking a walk in Okinawa, her home country, and even watching the famous South Korean Drama’The Heirs’ to her fans. Her MBTI is ENFP.

Anh/Tramanh

Anh is the Vocalist and Rapper in the South Korean girl group beauty box. She is a Vietnamese member of the group. She is a powerful girl and a Vietnamese beauty who was earlier known by the stage name Cherie as a Vietnamese pop idol. Her MBTI is ESTJ.

Ahn became inactive for some time due to her health reasons. She was advised to take a rest and stop her activities as an idol for the time being.

Jerin

Jerin is the former Rapper, Sub Vocalist, and Maknae of the South Korean girl group Beauty Box. She was the only Thai member of the group. Jerin has teenage swag vibes and is good in the English language. Her MBTI is ENTJ.

Jerin was removed from the group due to some issues with the contract violation. Her removal was also acknowledged on their channel’s community page post, which led to the cancellation of some overseas shows. The loss of this member was grieved by many of her fans online. 

Rina

Rina is a Sub vocalist in the South Korean girl group beauty box. She is a Japanese member of the group who is often mistaken for as European owing to her foreign visuals. She is your kind and eldest member of the group. Her love for animations is visible in her Vlogs and Interviews.

She has an angelic smile and possesses a lovely chic personality. She is often described as an ‘Ice princess’ in the group. Her MBTI is INFP. 

Sori

She is the main vocalist and Rapper in the South Korean girl group Beauty Box. She hails from Busan and can imitate the Busan dialect well. She also introduced the concept of ‘SORPLI’, a playlist of personally chosen songs to play for her fans on Beauty Box’s YouTube Channel.

Her singing is her charming point, as the fans can literally witness the colors in her voice. Her MBTI is ESFP.

Chae-Eun 

Chae-Eun is the vocalist and rapper in the South Korean girl group beauty box. She was added later to the group in 2023, nearly two years after the official group debut, by applying for an audition for a beauty box after the pandemic. 

She is good at beatboxing. Her MBTI is INFP and claims to be able to read other people’s minds, and is a type that tries a lot. Her trying spirit is evident as she also started to learn Japanese in order to communicate better with her fans.

Via 

Via is Rapper and singer in the South Korean girl group Beauty Box. She was added later to the group in 2023. She hails from Bandung, Indonesia, and is an Indonesian member of the group. 

She speaks Korean, English, and her mother tongue, Indonesian language. In her Unboxing introductory video of the debut, she introduced her audience to an Indonesian soupy dish called ‘Sop Buntut.’ Her MBTI is INTP.

Songs and Albums

After the successful launch of their YouTube channel, the group released the first Music Video, ‘Rat A Tat,’ from their debut Album ‘Beyond of BB’ on 23 September 2021. The song lyrics suggest the blossoming of love in the maiden’s heart and its after-effects on her beating heartbeat. 

The beautiful MV is a high-quality production and is shot between Resorts and Beaches, portraying colorful travel vibes to their viewers. The MV had simple choreography steps for the fans to follow. The concept of pretty girls in uniform skirt clothing accentuated members’ overall visuals.

The synchronization and members’ efforts garnered loving responses from many international fans, especially from Thai and Vietnamese fans. Owing to the success of the release, the group also shot two different MV versions of the song ‘Rat A Tat.’

In 2022, the group gave their fans a second treat through another upbeat EP Album, ‘B-Step’. Fans became quite enthusiastic with the catchy MV ‘BOGGLEBOGGLE’ that retained the cheerleading energy of the group as before.

‘BOGGLEBOGGLE’ was quite successful. After this release, the group was able to perform on many live performance stages like Show Champion, ARIRANG K-Pop, KBS World, and Korea Spotlight @Japan stage, which helped quite a lot of new audiences to enter the WIBBON fandom.

In mid-2022, they again flaunted their colorful girly skirts in a new choreography MV ‘Favorite’ from their second EP Album, ‘B-STEP ‘. The fans found Ahn missing in the MV due to her health issues.

To give a personal touch in catering to their fan’s needs, the group aired the ‘Chat on the Radio’ Show, where WIBBONS can communicate their heartfelt stories and concerns in the form of letters, which the members read and respond to on the show. 

Beauty Box never leaves its fans in isolation and constantly stays in touch with them on various Social Media platforms such as Youtube, Twitter, Weibo, Facebook, Instagram, and Naver Fan Cafe.
